Kinja'd!!!

Friday/Saturday I finally removed and replaced the hateful “compliance links”/”anti-harsh cranks” from my suspension.

Steering is now tighter than it’s ever been, but needs an alignment.

Well, mate, if a 56 year old car isn’t going quite perfectly straight down the road, I suppose it’s not a great surprise. Thing is, with these pieces of garbage in the suspension it was able to “slump” to its own center and equalize fairly straight, and now it can’t. :D

I should also note that it was hit on the lefthand side some time in the distant past (requiring a door replacement) and somebody attempted (despite the impossibility with cranks that let the suspension move around) to align it, with the driver’s side having about an inch of shims packed onto one of the adjustment posts. So, me having changed the geometry slightly, not a big surprise it’s a little mad.
